Books in Welsh and English will be available to purchase from the Welsh Books Council’s pop up stall at this year’s Welsh Emporium event in London. The event, which celebrates the craftsmanship, products and skills of Welsh companies, will be held at the London Welsh Centre on 10 March 2019, from 11am to 5pm. The Welsh Books Council pop-up is arranged in conjunction with the National Library of Wales.

Books from Wales for children and adults, in both Welsh and English, will be sold at the event. In addition, several signing sessions will be held at the stall during the day, with a chance to meet:

• baker and political correspondent Elliw Gwawr (11.30–12.15)
• Rob Gittins, author of chilling psychological novels (12.30–1.15)
• Cai Parry-Jones as he signs his book The Jews of Wales – A History (1.30–2.15)
• Aled Eirug as he signs his volumes on the opposition to the Great War (2.30–3.15)

Attendees will be able to purchase a range of products inspired by the iconic Kyffin Williams’ collection held at the National Library of Wales, including prints, notebooks, posters, mugs and other household goods.

The event is held as part of the wider schedule of the Welsh Week in London.

The Welsh Emporium aims to exhibit the very best of Welsh products, from food to drink, crafts, household goods, and Welsh and English publications.

Pedr ap Llwyd, Director, Deputy Chief Executive and Librarian of the National Library, said:

"Kyffin Williams had very close ties with London, and I’m glad to see the Library working closely with the Welsh Books Council to offer quality Welsh goods to the London market and local buyers, and subsequently further prominence to the magnitude of this artist."

Helgard Krause, Chief Executive of the Welsh Books Council added:

"As part of the Welsh Week in London celebrations, we look forward to being a part of the Emporium event. It’s a great opportunity to showcase the amazing variety of books being published in Wales at the moment."
