Cynan Jones wins Award

The Long Dry  by Ceredigion author Cynan Jones has won the Society of Authors' Betty Trask Award.

The Long Dry,  a highly acclaimed first novel by Ceredigion based author Cynan Jones is the winner of the prestigious Society of Authors' Betty Trask Award and is published by Parthian. The Award and a cheque for £2,500, to be used for research on his next book, was presented by the author Philip Pullman at the Society of Authors' Summer Gala in London. The Long Dry has already received an enthusiastic reception. Set on a farm in rural Wales where a cow which has been due to calve has gone missing. The book follows the efforts of the farmer to find the cow while interweaving a gripping story with elements of his personal and family life on the Ceredigion coast.
