Author Session in the Castle

5 Jan 2016

Cardigan Castle will be become home to 600 children and four authors on Thursday 11th and Friday 12th of February as the Welsh Books Council organise a huge event within its walls. The children will be provided with a feast for the eyes and ears as they see some of their favourite authors discussing their work.

Four authors  –  Sioned Lleinau from Gwasg Gomer, Caryl Lewis, Casia Wiliam and Huw Aaron will take part in the event, and Sioned Lleinau will give an insight into how to go about publishing a book, from its beginning to its very end.

Anwen Francis from the Welsh Books Council believes the castle is an ideal place to host such a show. She said:  "The name of the show is Sioe@LlyfrDaFabBooks and it coincides with the Welsh Books Council’s new twitter account. We are all really looking forward to it and the schools are keen to support us, so much so that we are already discussing organising a similar event soon.

"The location of the castle is ideal and the pavilion is large enough so that each child can sit comfortably to hear the authors hosting their sessions on stage. There will be two sessions each day and we hope that they will be full of fun and excitement."

Sue Lewis is the Facilities Officer at Cardigan Castle. She said:  "We are delighted to welcome the Welsh Books Council to the castle  –  it will be a fantastic event. We have worked with the Books Council since the castle opened in April to stock our bookshelves, and we know that hundreds of local children will have a fabulous time."
