World Book Day's 'Biggest Book Show on Earth' Huge Success at Memo Arts. Barry

World Book Day 2017’s The Biggest Book Show on Earth tour, had a successful stop at Memo Arts Centre, Barry today in celebration of World Book Day’s 20th anniversary

Barry line-up included: Steven Butler, Cathy Cassidy, Abi Elphinstone, Jim Smith, Martin Brown & Eloise Williams Wednesday 1st March at Memo Arts Centre, partnering with Welsh Books Council & Waterstones. Show compere, children's author Steven Butler, entertained 650 children, aged between 8 and 13, and lead them through the experience of hearing from best-selling authors Cathy Cassidy, Abi Elphinstone, Jim Smith and Eloise Williams. As well as illustrator Martin Brown, of Horrible Histories fame. Abi Elphinstone, author of The Dreamsnatcher, one of the performers in Barry said. "The fact that World Book Day is celebrating its 20th anniversary proves that it’s a much-loved institution that still get kids excited about reading. And what better way to celebrate than with The Biggest Book Show on Earth tour? Children’s literary events really don’t get any better than this."
